1. Free Service

✓ My Car Pool is a 100% free ride-sharing platform.
✓ No charges, fees, or commissions between riders and drivers.
✓ The platform connects people - it does not provide transportation services.
✓ Revenue is generated through advertisements and corporate partnerships, never from users.

✓ Every ride is completely voluntary. No user is obligated to accept any ride request.
✓ Riders may decline a ride offer at any time without penalty.
✓ Drivers may decline a ride request at any time without penalty.
✓ There is no minimum commitment to use the platform.

✓ Any rider or driver may cancel a ride if they feel unsafe for any reason.
✓ Cancellation reasons are kept strictly confidential and will never be shared with the other party.
✓ Users who make others feel unsafe may be permanently blocked from the platform.
✓ We encourage users to trust their instincts - your safety is more important than any ride.

✓ If a user is reported for making others feel unsafe, they will be permanently blocked.
✓ Blocking decisions are final and made to protect the community.
✓ Blocked users cannot create new accounts or access the platform.
✓ All reports are reviewed by the My Car Pool team before action is taken.

✓ Any form of harassment, inappropriate behavior, or misuse results in immediate permanent ban.
✓ This includes but is not limited to: verbal abuse, threats, discrimination, reckless driving, and any illegal activity.
✓ We maintain a safe, respectful environment for all users.

✓ My Car Pool is a free platform that connects people. We do not operate vehicles or provide transportation services.
✓ Users travel at their own risk and responsibility.
✓ The platform is not liable for any incidents during rides.
✓ Users are responsible for their own vehicle insurance and compliance with traffic laws.
✓ We strongly recommend all users verify their co-riders and exercise common sense.

✓ Personal information is used solely for ride matching and platform operation.
✓ Cancellation reasons and safety reports are kept strictly confidential.
✓ We do not sell user data to third parties.
✓ Users may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting helpdesk@mycarpool.co.in.

✓ ALL users must sign the non-commercial undertaking before using the platform.
✓ No user may use My Car Pool for any commercial purpose — this includes charging fares, running a taxi service, or any profit-making transport activity.
✓ Drivers offering one-time rides (Offer a Ride) may ONLY collect: (a) actual fuel cost calculated using manufacturer-rated mileage, and (b) toll gate / parking charges — divided equally among ALL occupants including the driver.
✓ The platform provides an official Cost Calculator based on manufacturer km/l ratings. This is the MAXIMUM amount a driver can collect per person.
✓ For Repeat Rides (daily rotation), no money is exchanged. Each member drives their own car on rotation.
✓ Any attempt to charge above the calculated amount or to use the platform commercially will result in immediate permanent ban.

✓ Cost = (Distance / Manufacturer km per litre) x Fuel price per litre + Toll charges.
✓ The total cost is divided equally among ALL people in the car, including the driver.
✓ Petrol cars and diesel cars have different manufacturer mileage ratings — the calculator uses the correct rate for each.
✓ Current fuel prices: Petrol Rs.110/L, Diesel Rs.98/L (updated periodically).
✓ Only the platform-calculated amount is the fair share. No additional charges of any kind are permitted.
✓ Toll gate charges and parking fees must be actual amounts with receipts if requested.

✓ ALL drivers MUST possess a valid driving licence issued by an Indian RTO. Users without a valid licence are permanently barred from driving on the platform.
✓ Users found driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any intoxicating substance will be immediately and permanently banned from the platform and reported to authorities.
✓ Users with contagious diseases that pose a health risk to co-riders are not permitted to participate in rides until they provide a medical clearance certificate.
✓ All vehicles must have valid Registration Certificate (RC), insurance, and Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.
✓ Drivers must not have any pending criminal cases related to road safety or violence.

✓ Using My Car Pool for commercial purposes (charging fares, running a taxi service) is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
✓ Penalties include: RC suspension for 6 months, fines of Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000, possible vehicle seizure.
✓ Your private vehicle insurance will be VOID if used commercially - you will have NO coverage in case of an accident.
✓ My Car Pool will permanently ban any user found charging commercially and will cooperate with authorities in prosecution.
✓ We maintain records that can be used as evidence in legal proceedings against commercial misuse.

✓ Maharashtra became the first Indian state to officially legalize app-based private carpooling in April 2025.
✓ My Car Pool platform is required to register with the Maharashtra Transport Department as a Carpooling Intermediary.
✓ Drivers in Maharashtra are limited to a maximum of 14 pooled trips per week.
✓ All users must complete mandatory ID verification before using the platform.
✓ Women can choose female-only rides for added safety.
✓ Minimum insurance coverage of Rs.5 lakh per pooled passenger is mandated.
✓ All trips are logged and data is maintained as per state requirements.
✓ For other states: My Car Pool complies with the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2020 (Central Government) and respective state regulations as they evolve.
